The Backyard Cultural Centre is located on the outskirts of Cavan town approx 2 miles from the town centre. The Backyard is built on the historical site of the14th century McCabe's Castle adjacant to Moynehall House.
Our venue has ample outdoor space including a picturesque courtyard, grassed areas and a relaxing outdoor seating area. The rooms surround and open on the beautiful enclosed stone courtyard.

The Backyard is a unique venue for indoor and outdoor events. The Backyard has a number of rooms with unique stone features throughout. A large hall with a wooden sprung dance floor and stage serves as the perfect venue for an array of events and occassions. A cosy seating area leads into the main hall and is ideal for intimate gatherings, traditional sessions or a chat around the open fire.
The Backyard is an ideal venue for Dance, Music, Arts, Health & Beauty, Sport, Private Functions or Parties and much more. The venue is available for private functions or corporate events.
